Very Productive Day
What a great day. It's 11:12 and
throughout the day I've brought three long-
term projects to completion.
I launched the conversion of qlogger. That
was about a two month effort. Every hour
out of work was spent on this.
I got my walls mudded. I'm putting
venetian plaster in the living room. It
took a lot longer than expected. What
started as a weekend project turned into a
three week process. I had to prime the
walls, put a first coat on and put a second
coat on. Each phase got slower. Starting
with a roller I moved to a slower large
trowel and then to an even slower small
trowell. Not fun. I had to work on a
small section of wall each night.
I cleaned the burned couch. Every piece of
it had to be cleaned. What I thought would
take an evening took a week. Each night I
worked on it a little bit. I wanted to
saddle soap the entire thing twice and a
few minutes ago I completed it.
Not a long term project, but something I've
wanted to do for a while: WAP. I hooked
qlogger up to my cell phone's wireless
internet browser. Very cool.
And I put a bird house up outside. I've
been meaning to do that since Christmas. I
put it right outside of the 180 Room.
The best part of completing long-term
projects is that now I can move on to the
next projects. Last week I bought four
huge 6 foot by 5 foot canvases that I plan
on painting. It'll take a while. I want
to put an XML-RPC or SOAP interface onto
qlogger. I want to build a coffee table
for the 180 Room. I want to complete
building my bed. And somewhere in there I
want to get back into skydiving.
I think that I'm going to relax a bit and
play Sim City 4 a little bit. I've had it
installed for about a week but haven't had
the time to play it. I think I should play
it. I think I need to play it.
