How Many on the Downed Black Hawk?
"The fate of those aboard a U.S. Army Black
Hawk helicopter remains unclear Thursday
after the chopper went down Wednesday night
near Karbala in south-central Iraq. The
Pentagon said seven soldiers were killed
and four others wounded and later rescued.
But a Central Command statement said six
people were on the Black Hawk and that
casualties could not be confirmed."
Here's my guess at what happened: The
black hawk went down with 11 people, four
were rescued. The Pentagon released a
statement saying that 7 were dead, four
rescued.
Central Command was pissed. My bet is that
those 7 didn't actually die. Maybe 6
died. Central Command wants the Iraqis to
believe that they have all of the bodies so
that they don't continue to search for
survivors.
So Central Command sent out a statement
that there were only 6 people on the black
hawk.
Central Command is looking out for those
who are alive but not rescued yet. It's
trying to give them an advantage.
Just my guess. I could be wrong.
