Healthy Joe Day 1
I'm trying to get back into shape.
Physically and mentally. I'm going to look
after and take care of some specific areas
of my life for the next thirty days. For
the first week I plan to post my progress
to the web. So I'll create placeholder
future entries and then fill them in as I
go.
Food:
Time to get healthier with my eating
habits. In college I watched all fat grams
and restricted my diet religiously. Lately
I've been more lax. My primary goal with
the diet isn't caloric, it's rounded. I
need to eat more rounded meals. More
fruits and vegetables. I never eat
breakfast or lunch and find myself eating
three meals in the course of five hours
after work. My plan is to buy some fruit,
eat it at work throughout the day and then
eat a healthy dinner.
Today I did well. I ate a banana and an
apple at work. I ate pasta for dinner.
Abs:
Trying to get rid of the belly. My plan is
to do the 8 minute abs program twice a
day. That’s 16 minutes of abs each day.
I did my 16 minutes today.
Sleep:
I'm going to try to get more sleep each
night. For the last few years I've been
working on about 5-6 hours of sleep. I
need to increase that to 7-8 hours. I get
up at 6:00 so I should try to make it to
sleep by 10:00. The problem is usually
that I get caught up in some project and
decide to stay up late.
I slept from 9:30 - 6:30 last night. Not
bad.
Workout:
Each night I will try to do either some
weights or a cardio workout. I'll try to
alternate. Or maybe I'll just do whatever
I feel like doing. The important thing is
that I do something physical.
I did some minimal weights today. Not a
resounding pass on the workout, but
something.
