Horrible Rainy Drive to Destin

What a horrible ride to Florida. Heather threw our schedule off. I was
frustrated because rain and traffic were coming. We didn't talk much (or
at all) for the first hour of the trip as we waded through traffic. It
wasn't as bad as I had expected.

I'm ok now. We made it to Florida.

The rain was heavy for 2/3 of the trip. We'd get heavy rain for 30
minutes and then light rain for 10 minutes. Typically when you travel
you outrun the rain front. Not this time. We were in it the entire
way. Six hours. At night. About 1/3 on small back roads.

I had to focus the entire time. No ability to relax at all. The lights
reflecting off of the road were tiring.

We stopped for BBQ at Sprayberry's restaurant. Mixed feedback. I liked
it. Heather didn't.

We stopped for gas and I got Heather a 40oz Corona.

Later we stopped for gas and Heather got herself a six pack of Corona.

Still later we stopped on a back road in Alabama. Nobody was around. We
used the side of the road for a pee break. I took some time lapse photos
of the car. It was tranquil but it was still raining.

The good news... the silver lining... is that my legs didn't act up. I
get restless legs. I have my whole life. It plagues me on long trips.
But in the last few years I've come to believe that the cause is sugar.
Case in point is our second-to-last trip to Destin. We stopped for
Walmart cookies, ate them in the car and my legs went nuts. This time I
avoided sugars all day. And I ran before we left. It seemed to work.
No leg cramps.

Argh... rough ride. Not fun. We arrived at about 12:30AM Atlanta time
which is 11:30PM Destin time. I immediately fell asleep.
