Boston for Web Logging Conference
I'm heading to Boston today to go to a Web Logging conference put on by
JupiterMedia. My Qlogger project has been running for about six years
now. It's got tons of users and they love it so I know that the value
proposition is there. My intention in going to this conference is to
listen. I want to learn what the space has to offer. Should be an
interesting trip. In addition I am also meeting with a researcher at MIT
to talk artificial intelligence and pattern recognition. Should be a
good trip. My hotel is in the middle of the financial section of the
city. I'm bringing my camera and hoping to take some photos.
7:05 AM - Left for the airport. No traffic. Smooth trip.
8:03 AM - Made it to the gate. Good golly that was fast. Parking was
quick. There were massive lines in the manual checkin for Delta so I
found a Kiosk Support Counter. I mentioned that the kiosk wasn't finding
my reservation. The lady at the desk found it, checked me in and
helpfully found me a window exit row seat. Nice. I made it to the gate
in under twenty minutes from the car. Now I have about two hours to work
on the computer.
9:09AM - Damn. Low battery notice. I am really on a roll. Cranking out
words like nobody's business. Damn. Only got about an hour of solid
word processing on this battery. Sub par.
12:14 PM - Off the plane. My seat was amazing. I had about 6 feet of
leg room. Nobody sitting next to me. Window seat. I read a magazing and
snoozed a little.
1:24 PM - Got the rental car. Made it to the hotel. The Omni Parker
House is a nice place and it is right in the middle of the city. I've
gotten situated, checked out some NASCAR for a few seconds and now I'm
going to go out and grab a bite to eat.
