New Car: 2000 Porsche Boxster Silver
Just got a cell phone call. I've got a new car.
I was working with a gentleman named Skip Smith. He does the auto
auctions. I was trying for one of two cars: a 1998 Black Boxster or a
2000 Silver Boxster. I put my max spend on the 98 at $25000 and my max
spend on the 00 at $27000.
The 98 never showed up at the auction. And as it turns out Skip knew the
group who was selling the 00. They wanted $28000 but Skip talked them
down to $26500. WahoO!
A 2000 Boxster with 40K miles has a market value of between $29000 and
$31000 so I made out like a bandit.
I'll go and pick it up tonight.
I've never had a convertible. I thought it would be nice to get one.
And Atlanta's the perfect city for it. The car itself will be very tame
compared to the M3, but that's by design. I'll be a lot safer in a
slower car. Less chance of accidentally wrapping it around a tree at
150mph while racing motorcycles.
Thanks Skip!
