New AMD Motherboard and Linux Redhat 9

I had a fallen soldier. An old PII box that served me well over the years. But alas, it must have
been struck by lightning for even a new power supply couldn't breathe life into it.

I didn't give up on it though. I searched high and low for an easily accessible (i.e. in Atlanta
driving range) PII motherboard but found none. I would have to get something new.

Top of the line?

Not exactly. Cheapest thing I could find. I checked around and found that GIM Computers had the best
deal on an 810 motherboard with built-in AMD Duron chip. Some extra memory and the price for the setup
was $145.65. More than I wanted to spend but Heather hooked me up with a cool .1G for Valentines day
so I went for it.

I drove to GIM, picked it up and brought it home.

The install was painless. The Redhat install was easy.

The wireless card has proven less painless. Not able to get it working yet. No manufacturer drivers
for it. So I'm having to install some open source drivers. But they're not working. May have to run
a wire. How 1999?
