Adidas Cubato and Adidas Supernova Control

I got two new pair of running shoes today.

I went to Phidippides and bought some Adidas Cubato Plus RC racing flats. Cost: $70. These shoes are as light as a sock.
They basically are a
sock. Very light mesh top with some foam on the bottom. Not goot to run in every day but great for races.

I also bought a pair of Adidas Supernova Control from Phidippides. They had the newest model with a red and white color
scheme. I didn't like the colors much. Their display model was a more blue and navy color scheme. I had them check the back
room but they had none in stock. So I bought the hideous red ones.

Then, on a hunch, I went to Fleet Feet... about 50 yards away... and they had the Supernova Control in the color I wanted on
the clearance
rack. Now, there's nothing different between my current pair, the latest pair and this middle pair on the clearance rack. I
paid $90 at Phidippides and then got the same shoe in a better color for $50 from Fleet Feet... not a bad deal. I love it
when things work out like that. Adidas, and all shoe manufacturers continually churn their color schemes but often leave
their design the same.

They leave the design the same because runners have lots of issues with knees, ankles, blisters, sizing and aeration. When we
find something we like we stick with it. We don't like design changes. At the same time, Adidas knows that many of us are
suckers and will jump for the fancy new color scheme. So they change the colors a lot.

I got to return one pair of shoes that I bought about ten minutes prior. No big deal. They're cool with it. I let them
know that Fleet Feet beat them to it with a product I wanted at a much better price. Just unlucky for them.

I like the Adidas Supernova Control. It's treated me well and I'm not going to mess with it. My knee hasn't been acting up
and I've been able to increase my weekly mileage. I decided on these shoes by doing a blind running test. I didn't like the
fact that they're ugly but they work well. The new colors aren't as ugly as the old.

I'm looking forward to running the Cubatos this weekend in a race here in Tucker.

I guess I'm big on Adidas. It's odd. I don't really feel any conscious brand loyalty to them. But when I try shoes on and
when I do the research I seem to end up in Adidas. They just feel good to me.

I've got a little over 500 miles on my current pair. Running shoes should last for somewhere between 400 and 600 miles...
depending on who you talk to and whether or not they're trying to sell you a pair of shoes.

Overall a good shoe day.
