Yeah, Anil Gets It! Weblogs Aren't Just About Traffic!

Anil Dash gets it. In his href='http://www.dashes.com/anil/2004/04/16/do_you_have_a_w'>latest
post
he's challenging the notion that publishing is the only value
proposition of web logs. Says Anil: "So when I see disparaging
of "unpopular" or low-flow weblogs or the use of someone's readership as a
barometer of their legitimacy, credibility or importance, and I have to
strongly object."

Amen bro!

In addition to publishing there's the href='http://www.joereger.com/entry.log?logid=7&eventid=1964'>nostalgia
component
that I've written about. Anil, like I did href='http://www.joereger.com/entry.log?logid=7&eventid=1415'>in this
article
, is challenging the metrics we use to determine what makes a
successful web log. Interconnectedness with friends also brings
incredible value, but often not much traffic as explored href='http://www.joereger.com/entry.log?eventid=1979'>here

Good to see this thought process. Thanks for the post Anil!
