Up Late Catching Up

Had a number of things to do tonight. Met with the minister who'll marry us. Nice guy. Planned out the ceremony, favoring brevity and non-denomonationality (is that even a word?). Tried to get the tux but we went to the wrong mall. Oops. Listened to more of the DaVinci Code with Heather... enjoying a few chapters each night puts Heather to bed quickly. Good book, Heather's just tired by the end of the day. Worked on some time period stuff for the blogging technology. Excited about this concept. Define multiple overlapping periods in your life and then each entry reflects the time periods that it was part of. For example, "Living in Atlanta" and "Going to Georgia Tech" may overlap. These two time periods house all entries during that time period and give a nice way to link things together... paint the big picture better. Some nice UI work showing something like a Gantt chart. Put my skydiving rig up for sale. Haven't been jumping in close to two years now. If I get back into it I'll want to have the best new gear. Caught up on the training log entries... I had been waiting for the Callaway Gardens pics but I decided to go ahead and post... I'll add the pics later. Spent some time pitching blogs to radio stations today. Main thing I heard is that they want content mediation... the ability to review/approve all posts. Kinda against the freedom of publishing that blogs are meant to enable but the (potential) customer is always right. I can work with them once they're a customer. Reger.com has it but needs some additional UI to do what they need. Spent some time creating a rudimentary requirements outline. Wouldn't mind spending the rest of the week implementing it. Should apply to most any business that uses the platform so it's a good investment. And now it's 2:37AM and I'm a little tired. But not too tired. Odd. In the basement office. Cleaned up a but... moved some boxes around. This morning I was going to get up at 6:00AM to go for a swim but the power got knocked out by the remnants of Hurricane Frances. By the time I woke up at 8:00 I decided to get to work. But now I'm awake, meaning that the alarm I set for 6:00AM doesn't make sense and will likely be snoozed to oblivion. I've had more trouble switching to an early morning schedule than expected. I seem to gravitate to the night for geeky code stuff. And the increased training distances seem to demand a little more sleep which puts early ups out. I'll keep working on it. I'd like to be getting into the gym for morning swims every day of the week. Ok, I'm heading to bed. Thanks for reading this stream of consciousness.

Update: It's 3:06AM. Still awake. Doing some maintenance on the basement computer. Updated a few draft blog entries I've been meaning to tend to. Checking out the new features of Act! 2005, contact management software. Not bad looking. The main thing I hate about Act is the list view addition of a contact. For some reason the click stream doesn't make sense to me. Still not yet tired. I have a haircut tomorrow. And a tri-atlanta meeting about training with power meters. Thanks Keith for the heads up. Looking forward to it.

Update: It's 4:35AM. Heather woke up, came downstairs and dragged me away from the computer. But in a final check on the upstairs notebook I found an error on the site and had to do some fixing. Still not tired, oddly enough.

Update: It's 4:41AM. Thing fixed. Heading to bed. Pupper snoring.

Update: It's 9:10AM. Got some sleep. Up for the day.
