That Moment of Zen

We Type A's don't get many moments of Zen. Always planning. Thinking. Analyzing.

So when a moment of Zen comes along it's a big deal. I'm kind of in one right now.

Heather and I are hanging out on the beach. My big training for the trip is done... 112 mile ride and 13.1 mile run. Checked in with my father and sister... all is OK with the dogs and the business. Shot off some emails to Lori and Jamye... consulting is in order (although I do wish I had some particular software down here so that I could help more.)

All in all, the things to worry about are taken care of.

So I sit on the beach and write thank you notes with Heather while sipping Miller Lite. And then in happens: I realize that I'm actually relaxed. Just enjoying the waves. The kids running all over the place. The conversation with Heather. The family planning. It's all too perfect. It's the moment of Zen. I love it.

On the beach today I'm acting by the laws of WWFD (What Would Fric Do). You see, Heather loves to sit on the beach with her sister Fric. And generally I'm a poor substitute... always heading off on a ride or not getting drunk... or not having boobies or something... who knows why. But today, after the run, I decided to ask myself WWFD? To which I replied "hang on the beach with Heather and drink a few." And we're having a great time.

I'm in the condo right now making turkey sandwiches for us. The oven's heating the cheese while I type. Yummy. So I've gotta run. But I certainly didn't want to forget the moment of zen.

Finally really relaxed on the MiniMoon.

Later!
