Ok, so I'm at home and Heather's in VR. I came home to let the dogs out. Heather's feeling a bit of an itch in her throat so I want her to sleep as much as possible so that she doesn't get sick again. That cold/flu she had last time was terrifying.

I'm playing my iPod mini while I train my new Logitech IO2 pen. So far it's exceeding my expectation. It's recognizing every word that I write. I did the handwriting training process and it says it's 99% accurate with my writing... which is amazing given that my handwriting sucks.
If it does what I think it will do I'll be able to write a bunch of notes (at a meeting, for example), drop the pen into its cradle, and have it automatically download the the computer and send a copy to a private weblog. Which gives me an incredible repository of personal notes. Some of which I can publish. Others are just me scribbling random crap and possible trade secrets.
I've already tested the ability to switch back and forth between pages naturally. The special paper has these tiny little dots on the page which tell the pen where it's at. I'd love a quick How It Works summary of the technology. I'll have to Google for one.
There are too many great gifts to list all the play time. My father got a remote control car from his brother. I got to take it home. The dogs freaked out. Very unexpectedly. We expected some excitement. But Bug hid from it. Pupper barked like a mad-dog at it... whenever it was driving away from her. But when it turned towards her she turned tail and ran like a little baby. It was hilarious!
The iPod mini is great because of its smaller format which I'll enjoy while working out. 4Gb is about what I need anyways. As I've blogged recently I listen to the same thing over and over again all the time.
Don't tell Heather... I'm drinking Christmas beer tonight. I stopped at a gas station and picked up a six pack of Corona Light. I'm logging the calories from it. But I figure it's the holidays and I should enjoy it before getting into the next year of training. I have to admit to some pretty big guilt over this though. Heather's being quite a trooper and hasn't complained at all about alcohol.
I'm three beers into the evening. But it's been about two hours since I had the first. They're pretty well spread out so there's not much of a buzz happening.
It's about time for me to bring the dogs upstairs, put Bug in the cage and let the cats out for the evening. It's a complicated multi-stage process but I think I can manage it.
Pretty good Christmas. I enjoyed seeing everybody.
