GPS-Enabled Camera

According to a press release sent out by Ricoh on January 18, this is “the world’s first GPS-ready digital camera.”

First off, it isn't the first GPS-enabled camera... Kodak has one too.

Second, this continues to paint my case that devices are collecting more and more information. Reger.com has GPS fields that can collect, organize that publish this information. I'm on the right track.

I want my Canon 10D to have this capability. Then I'll build mapping capability into the site. Imagine a map where you see exactly where each picture was taken... anywhere in the world.

And then imagine my video camera, cell phone, voice recorder and computer all having GPS built-in. Boomps! A map of my life! I want it!

Awesome! It's coming!
