Oh Joy... I'm Getting Sick
Throat is scratchy. Head's starting to get puffy. Back muscles a bit tight.
I'm getting sick!
WahoO! I just hope I don't get it as bad as Heather has it right now. I also hope that by the time my sickness peaks Heather's feeling a little better. Or that my body wins the exponential march of white blood cells against the bacteria/virus armies.
There's really little I can do now. It's all up to the math. My body had X wbc's on hand when I got infected. It can produce X per hour more. Whatever strain of bacteria/virus I have can reproduce at a rate of Y.
Both of them will grow at exponentially faster rates. WBC's have built-in advantages and will eventually win, but they may take a day or so to gain critical momentum and overcome the insurgents.
Fun, fun, fun. When I wake up tomorrow I'll know my fate. Either I'll feel fine or I'll feel like crap.
Update 11:04PM: I'm surprised how quickly this thing seems to be progressing. I shouldn't be. It's likely the same strain that Heather has. And reproducability is one of the cornerstones of science. Six hours ago I felt the first tickle of pain in my throat. Now my whole body feels sore and my head is stuffy. Throat already feeling full with that hard-to-swallow feeling. Neck stiff. Even in the hour since I originally wrote this entry I can feel a difference.
