They're predicting a bit of an icy rain storm this weekend. I hope it's a massive ice storm. I love driving around the city looking for photos to take. Icy trees make for good pics. Of course, with the flu I'm not sure I'll be able to take advantage.
Update 1:35PM: I went to the supermarket to get us some sick supplies... it was packed. Barely a parking spot available. No carts free. Lines. Amazing. The predicted low is 31 degrees.
Update 4:40PM: Heather said that the last time she talked to her family out in Villa Rica... about an hour West of Atlanta... the direction the storm's coming from... it was already sleeting.
Update 4:55PM: First sleet hitting the house. Tiny, almost invisible, little pellets of ice bouncing on the roof and collecting near the gutters. Nice. Nothing like the four feet Missy and Isi caught in Boston... but something special for the ATL.
Update 11:44PM: Still nothing more than a little sleet here and there. I put the minivan up at the top of the driveway in case the ice comes and either Heather or I need to go to the hospital. News reports are going crazy with the winter storm of oh five. In theory, there's going to be some cold rain starting around midnight. We'll see.
