PMWow. Busy arse Friday.

The email and phone messages were hot and heavy last night. So I knew that this morning would be busy. The founder from a mainstream blogosphere company contacted me which was wonderful. I think that there may be a number of good opportunities for our companies to work together. Not sure how he feels about me mentioning it so I'll stay quiet for a bit. Left him a voicemail and sent him an email but wasn't able to speak with him today. Next week.

There was a deadline in the lawsuit today but I requested more time to put things together. We had just gotten to the point where we had a solid draft ready and new information was coming in. The case is getting more and more solid as we collect information and make sense of everything. My uncle has been an incredible resource.

Talked to Mark briefly about a sales prospect that he's working on in Virginia. He's doing a great job and I think there's a good fit with the company who's looking at the technology.

Got an accidental call from Urbi. She's over her flu and having a good day. She dialed my number accidentally but it's always good to hear from her.

Found a quirk in the EmailAPI and worked it over today. What started as a bug fix ended in some nice new functionality. The EmailAPI now accepts forwarded messages, parses them, finds attachments and appends message bodies to the blog entry. It also discerns between html and plain text versions of the message... modern email clients are sending both these days, which is great, but it needs to be handled gracefully otherwise you end up with duplicating entries.

I thought I had the fix done halfway through the day and launched a build. Tested it more. Nope. Return to Go. I had to be more rigorous with my testing.

Had a nice email exchange with my mother throughout the day. Talking birthday stuff and life in general. Always nice to hear from the Momster.

Chastized my father for some non-familial billing practices. He completely agreed and responded nicely. Which is great.

Spent the last few hours finishing up the EmailAPI. I made a total of 71 test sends to the API to test all the various combinations of html email, plaintext email, attachments, no attachments, nested messages, no nested messages. Seems to be working pretty well.

Right now it's uploading to the server. So I have a moment to catch my breath. Behind on the workout. Wanted to be running by 4:30PM. It's now about 6:00PM, meaning that Heather will be home any minute. Yikes. Gotta get running.

It's sunny and windy out today. Very windy.

So that's been my Friday. Pretty busy.

We're heading out to eat some Mexican this evening. Another reason to get onto the treadmill immediately. Or as soon as I get the code launched.

Update 6:14PM: Just got the build done. Going to run on the basement treadmill to save time getting to/from the gym. Behind schedule but the EmailAPI is running strongly in production again. Hooah!
