Why Do iPod Batteries Suck So Badly?
I just picked up my DeWalt cordless power drill. Hasn't been in the charger in for over a year. Still close to fully charged. My Canon 10D can sit in the camera bag for weeks. I pull it out and it's got a full charge.
But I leave the iPod overnight in the off position and in the morning it has close to no charge. Now it'll say that it's got some charge. But after ten minutes of play time it's down to nothing.
And it's not just one iPod. We've got three between us. Two 40Gb'ers and one iPod Mini.
So WTF Apple?
I know the physical scale of battery technology differs between the three devices. So I'm only half-heartedly toung-in-cheekedly bitching here. I'm sure the Apply technicians take the battery life very seriously. So I'm sure there really is a valid reason for iPod batteries discharging so quickly while being off. I know that in the past there was a battery drain issue with the firmware, but we keep them up to date.
Oh well... that's my consumer product gripe for the day.
