RunningBehind Wednesday May 4th, 2005
The morning is already through and I'm running behind. Had to upgrade the firmware on my wireless router. It disconnects every night and drives me nuts. Got through some email. Haven't yet read my RSS feeds.
Not gonna get the XML stuff out today. I have some client bugs and production stuff that took priority. I'll br driving tomorrow. Maybe Friday?
A build is uploading right now, which grants me a bit of a break. I want to test things out for a while and then deploy to the client.
The new RAID array is nice... great knowing that the data is on two drives.
Robin stayed with us last night. Doctor's appt this morning in the city. They drew blood and she passed out, throwing up five times. She's taking a little rest right now. I hate needles too.
Lots to do today. Leaving for Florida tomorrow. Gotta get a swim, bike and run in. And pilates. Even though my abs are sore from Monday's weights.
I ate a lot of calories yesterday. Lots of carbs. Lots of protein. Probably 4500 calories in a calculated attempt to help the recovery along. I feel full today. It'll take the next couple days to work itself through my system. Light eating from now until Friday at which point I'll start the carboload.
Bob Cringely stopped by to leave a message wishing Heather and Ava his best. Always good to hear from Bob... and to read his
weekly column, of course.
Update 6:57PM: All in all, not a bad day. Got the build out to production and to the client. Started looking into moving the codebase to Subversion. Intellij Idea is already supporting it in the unreleased Irida (v5.0) and a couple large projects have moved to it. I was able to get a server running pretty quickly but have had some trouble figuring out the URL scheme to gain access to the repository. More later, I'm sure.
Did a bike and a run. Felt pretty good.
Ate some cookies today. Darn it Heather. She left a whole box of them on the counter this morning. There is now half a box of them. Stupid Keebler elves. I do need the kCals to recover though... I'm still a little behind on the recovery thing after a hard week.
Ordered a body composition calculator yesterday. Interested in seeing where my body fat percentage is from time to time.
I'm off to do a swim and pilates. Later.
