From eggman: Joe, or anyone else out there, I want to pay someone to use the killhdinitrd method to copy programs off of my Tivo (HDVR2 3.1.1e software version) hard drive and burn them to CD/DVD. I've read all about it but there seems to be so many potential problems that I don't want to deal with. Also, I have no linux experience and don't like to geek out for hours and hours. Any takers with proven experience in the Atlanta area ?
Are there any legal issues with this? I haven't looked into it and probably won't have time to check it out for a while, but maybe somebody out there is interested. Email splinterface@yahoo.com if you think you can do it. Maybe there's a business here. I know that some folks have been making decent bank upgrading the TiVo hard drives.
Oh, and I don't know this eggman character... unless he happens to be the white cat Heather and I used to have. He could be a serial killer or a jackass or something... so please be careful.
