Shawn Burke Triathlete Found

After the St. Anthony's triathlon, walking my bike back to the hotel, I talked to a guy who had a shiny Kuota bike. He mentioned that he had done Ironman Arizona two weeks prior. We chatted a little more and then we went our separate ways. I never asked his name.

Then today I saw a pic of the race winner after the race and in the background was a guy with a t-shirt that I remembered. And his bike was a Kuota. And I could see his number.

On a hunch I went to the results page of St. Anthony's to get his name, Shawn Burke. Then I went to the Ironman Arizona results and, sure enough, there he was... in the right age group and everything.

So, now I know that the nice guy I was talking to after the race was Shawn Burke who finished St. Anthony's in 2:13:23 and Ironman Arizona in 11:33:23.

It's not a small world... just a data-connected one.
