Heading back to Atlanta, Delayed
Heading back to Atlanta. Standby for the 3:40PM Airtran in. Had a good lunch meeting with
Bob Wyman today. Lots of good stuff to discuss but I have little time to do so right now. Thanks to Bob for the time and genuine input on Reger.com. Using paid wifi at the airport and need to start stalking the counter people to get on the flight.
Update 5:53PM: Oh holy misery. We are stuck at LaGuardia. The B terminal is hot, overcrowded and has little to do. I've been sweating for hours. We didn't get put on the 3:40 flight. We probably won't make the 6PM flight, delayed to 7PM. We're on a flight at 7PM but it'll likely be delayed an hour or more. It's all weather-related... possibly Hurricane Ophelia?
Update 6:13PM: One silver lining is the fact that I'm now King of the Opressed Laptop People of LaGuardia Terminal B (KotOLPoLTB). I found, and retained for personal use, two power outlets. The engineers at LaGuardia decided to put outlets all over the place... but only about one in five actually works. I am a power outlet God right now. Bow to me you cell-phone and laptop toting masses!
I'm running my laptop. Charging the Nano. Charging the phone.
And listening to a young lady have a very verbose and styled conversation with her friends. Is it just me, or are the kids today slightly less, well, coherent? Maybe I'm just getting old.
Working on some sml stuff. Hating this place.
Update 6:38PM: It's getting close to the time that I have to step down from my power outlet throne. I shall give up my power gracefully. And then I'll lug my notebook and carry-on suitcase the few hundred meters to the gate to learn that they've delayed the flight by an hour or so. I'll spend that hour without power, bitter.
Update 12:21AM: Only took ten miserable hours to get back home. Luggage in Atlanta took forever to hit the carousels. Suck. Joe over and out.
Update 9:33AM, next day: Holding Ava and hugging Heather made the trip worthwhile.
