Kinda unexpected, eh? Me buying my fifth pair of Adidas Supernova Control.
Heather and I took Ava to Fleet Feet today and both bought new shoes. Heather got a nice pair of Filas that fit her well. She's getting back into the running thing and needs some cushion.
I've got some long runs coming up soon and I don't want to go into a race in new shoes. And the most recent pair has something like 450+ miles. So it was time.
They're moving towards the AdiStar Control... Fleet Feet is considering not carrying the Supernova Controls any more... apparently people like the AdiStar. I tried them on and went for a mini-run in them. They felt about the same as the SNC but with a little less cushion. Not seeing a dramatic advantage, I decided to stick with the devil I know.
Moved up to size 12 from 11.5. The last pair left me with some blistering and overall felt tight. The 12's feel perfect.
Colors are about the same as the last pair. Funny to look back and see that I first bought the SNC at Phiddipedes (sp?) in a blind test. I immediately declared that I chose the ugly pair. I did. But they work well for me.
Dear god I must type fast. How do I write this much about a damn pair of shoes? Or better, why? I swear a minute hasn't passed. I only wanted to quickly give an update so that in the future I can determine when it's time to get new ones.
