Reger.com Version 6.0 Released

Big new release... version 6.0! Downloadable version. Forum. Consumery public site. Wow.

Big shift to a simpler Reger.com. I've gotten a lot of feedback saying that the site is too confusing to use when you know what it is, much less when you don't. Message received. First step is what you see now... a simplified homepage and signup process. Second step will be focusing on core value messaging and some better design.

Launched a new support forum. I answer a lot of the same questions for new bloggers. I certainly don't mind doing so, but I wanted a way for people to take advantage of those answers in one place.

And the downloadable version is huge. It's new and BETA, but it allows a user to install the datablogging server on their own computer. Free usage up to three users. Unlimited storage (because it's your own computer). Unlimited logs. Create your own log types. Go nuts. The core code that runs the datablogging server is production-quality. But the wrapper and install process haven't been deployed my many people. Try it out and post issues to the forum. Very excited about this.

Tons of bug fixes and other improvements. We didn't keep up with some of the bigger new features in the issue tracker. Things like caching for improved performance. New database connection pooling. Release notes below.

Up next is a big template build. Marty and Peter are working hard on it and the new templates are looking great.
