Javier and Robin's Wedding in San Diego

Heather and I went to Javier and Robin's
wedding this weekend. Javier is my cousin.

Our airline travel proved challenging both
ways. Our initial flight was for 6:40PM.
At 4:45PM I got a call asking whether or not
I could make a 5:30PM flight. My flight had
been canceled. "Sure," I said.

Heather and I rushed to the airport only to
find that the flight we were moved to had
been delayed, which would cause us to miss
our connecting flight. So they put us on
another airline, Frontier.

We thought little of it and boarded the
plane. As we made it into the plane we were
pulled off because our tickets had not been
transferred properly. I had to get what's
called a "FIM." I ran to the other end of
the terminal to find that the customer care
reps were not available. So I cut in line
and grabbed a gate clerk. He referred me to
his manager a few gates further down.

I again cut in line and tried to get a FIM.
He was able to do it, but needed our return
tickets as well. So I had to run back to
Heather, then back to the manager. By the
time he stamped th ticket I had about 2
minutes to make the plane.

Well, we missed the plane. Now we had to go
to another airline to get a flight out to
San Diego. But they needed the ticket to be
stamped. So for the fourth time that day I
cut in line and for the third time asked a
particular manager to stamp my tickets.

We got onto the plane and made our
connecting flight in Denver. In the end we
had tickets for four flights across three
airlines.

We were staying at Miramar, the former Top
Gun school. Now it's a Marine base.

I jumped one day and did wedding festivities
the other day.

The jumping was excellent.

The wedding was sweet. The location was
beautiful and serene. Heather had a good
time meeting some of my extended family that
she had never met before.

Our trip back had the same type of airline
problems caused by none other than the
infamous "FIM" number.

We made it back safely. Congratulations to
Javier and Robin.
