The 2005 Annual Holiday Shopping Day and Half Christmas Celebration
Heather, Ava and I got up early. Not as early as we had hoped, but pretty early. Ava was a little fussy overnight.
Off we went to Perimeter Mall for Ava's first pics with Santa! Santa was a possibly-drunk maybe-homeless somewhat functionally inarticulate gentleman... but a dashing image of Santa all the same. And Ava didn't know the difference. She smiled like crazy. And then the picture attendants picked the wrong pic and Heather was somewhat dissappointed with the final. But I had fun.
Grabbed a bite at Chick Fil A. I only had to return Heather's "unsweet tea with lemon" three times to get the "sweet tea with lemon." I had some decaf coffee.
Then it was time to shop! Heather planned on hitting Williams & Sonoma and the Apple store... both of which are not in the Perimeter Mall, much to her chagrin.
So it was off to Borders on Ashford Dunwoody where I bought four or five books while Baby Bjorning little Ava. Saw Patrick from All3Sports in the parking lot with his Mini Cooper... license plate: VO2Min! Heather fed Ava in the lot.
Then off to Phipps to go to Tiffany's. Quick stop. I handled Ava in the stroller.
Then it was off to the Lenox Square Mall! To Williams & Sonoma. And then to the Apple store, which we skipped because of long lines. But we accomplished most of what we wanted to do in one incredible stop at W&S.
So we went to Old Navy on Piedmont for a gift cert for somebody. And I locked Heather in the minivan, getting a phone call from her a few minutes later: "I think the alarm is going off." Oops. The alarm goes off when you lock with the remote and somebody's inside.
Lunch at On the Border. Ava was great.
Then home for a quick break before heading to my mom's for half-Christmas proceedings (matt/kendra and my father will be out of town on the 25th).
Ava started to get fussy. Really fussy. I was exhausted. Really exhausted. None of our standard tricks worked. She just wouldn't stop crying.
Into the car, exhausted. Used TomTom GPS navigation to route around traffic on I-285. Nice.
Made it to mom's. Ate food. Opened presents. Was exhausted.
On the way home Matt stopped the car in front of us to point out two christmas lighted reindeer humping in a front yard. Got pic and will post.
Quick stop at Target for diapers and a beard trimmer (I'm getting overgrown).
And now we're home and Ava's exhausted. Heather's feeding her. I'm beat. But now I'm less fuzzy on the chin.
Shopping is tiring... but at least it's done for 2005! And I had a great day with my two leading women! Really enjoy hanging out with them!
