10:06:37 AM: Loading Ava into the car today I tell Terp that I'm going to the movie 300 tonight with Marc and she gives me the guilt eye, as if I've ruined family time for the next three generations. Moments later she casually mentions that she was already planning on staying out in villa rica tonight to ride on the comet a bit. As she realizes her tactical error she gives me a big hug and says:
I like you sometimes stickman... like when you're nice and you keep your mouth shut.
True love people. Right here. It really was a special moment we shared in the garage this morning (no sarcasm).
12:46:37 AM: Saw 300 with Matthew and Marc. Marc and I missed the 85 entrance and sat on Jimmy Carter Blvd while the 7:15 show sold out so we at at On the Border, watched Matthew pound five margaritas and then caught the 10:15 showing. IMAX screen is amazing. The stylizing in this thing was incredible. High action, high energy. Lots of blood and guts. I read a little about the history of the event before I went and they did a good job representing, if not stretching, the major issues. As we were waiting for the show to start I saw a dude with a 10 inch mohawk walking into the theatre. He sits down directly in front of Marc. "What are the chances?" he says.
