Foot Update: Still Getting Worse

Apparently I grossed everybody out with the foot pics. Sorry about that. I'll skip them for this update.

My feet are still getting worse. I can't wear shoes because such a large portion of my foot it swollen. The surface looks like poison ivy. Just bending a toe causes little ruptures and leaking. It's disgusting and painful.

But the worst part is all the fitness I'm losing. Even if I could wear shoes I couldn't run. The allergic reaction has broken down too much of the skin. Just a light brush takes off chunks of skin. My biggest fear right now is that this will turn into a big massive scab that takes a month to heal.

The area affected continues to expand. It's painfully slow. I'm now at over a week since I took off the tape and some areas are just beginning the process of having a reaction. And the first areas to show a reaction still aren't anywhere near being healed.

I'm not sure the steriod creme is having any effect. Today I'm adding a calamine + antihistamine lotion to the mix (IvArrest). It promises to dry out the skin and stop the weeping. We'll see. I'll probably alternate it with the steroid creme. I just want to see some sort of progress.

I'm not holding up well. Frustration more than anything. Combined with constant drowsiness from the antihistamine I'm on to stop the itching. It doesn't actually stop the itching but it does make it bearable. I'm having a tough time keeping things in perspective.
