09:54:04 PM: Ooh, Gordo had a rough day, finishing 13th. Looking forward to reading his take on the race.

09:56:32 PM: Carole Sharpless did Ironman Louisville but I hear she's been suffering from a stress fracture.

10:03:51 PM: So I'm going through the IM Canada race reports trying to figure out what happened to Gordo. He was sixth off the bike, about 21 minutes back. Fairly quickly he seems to have dropped out of the top ten, then into it and then back out of it to eventually finish 13th. Maybe just not a good run day for him? Maybe too much power output on the bike? Whatever it was I'm sure he's learned from it and will bring his immense writing skill to bear in sharing that lesson with those of us who read his blog.

10:04:35 PM: In IM Louisville Carole Sharpless is 5th for the women! Go Carole!

10:08:01 PM: Going back even further into the IM Canada reports it looks like Gordo was about 10th early in the bike and slowly moved his way up to 6th. This reflects smart pacing to be able to move forward late in the bike segment. But did he move up by sticking to plan? Or by getting a little anxious about the youngsters ahead adn throttling it? I suppose we'll know soon enough.
