03:18:37 PM: On the floor near the toilet is an REI catalog which, while marketing a bike for kids, proclaims "Make their first bike a great one and they'll love riding for life." Nuh uh. The type of bike Ava and AvesTwo get will have little to nothing to do with how much they enjoy riding over the course of their lives. However, whether Heather and I enjoy riding and share it with them in a constructive, fun way is relevant. Manipulative advertisers. Yet another example of why the dNeero concept has legs. Smart brands that I like (i.e. REI) often do stupid stuff and a social campaign would allow me to voice my opinion in a way that they'd hear it. As is, this blog post may affect a person or two but doesn't close the feedback loop to REI so that they don't assume I'm retarded again. Closing the loop shouldn't be my responsibility and shouldn't take me extra effort. Or, if it does, I should get paid for my time.

03:27:28 PM: Took a few minutes to think about 9/11, now six years ago. A lot has changed in the world since then. A lot has stayed the same. No real conclusions from my thinking... just good to reflect.
