Back Home with a Miserable Terp

Heather wants to thank everybody for the kind well-wishes. At least that's what I think she said between hacking coughs.

The docs gave her a Class B antibiotic prescription. They wouldn't pull the trigger on a Class A. While the strep test came back negative they didn't want to risk a false negative given the pregnancy. It's been about sixteen hours since the first antibiotic and iv fluid trickled in but so far there's been no improvement. If anything she's gotten worse.

Her throat is the most painful part of the ordeal. And the hacking cough gives it no rest. So she communicates with me via text message or whispering. This morning I was awakened by a text message requesting toast and some vitamin c. So far she's just in bed trying to sleep, as she should be. Beep & Ball took Aves last night.

We're watching a fever administering taking tylenol to keep it down. With Emme we can't tolerate much over 101 degrees... and that's where she was last night. But she said that's come down a bit.

Thanks again to everybody checking in. I'm really hoping she gets some healthy time before she has to deliver Emme.

Update 02:31:45PM: Here's the latest text message from Terp:
humidifier refill & lunch pls. turkey sandwich + gatorade refill + bottle of water. thx
She's a hurtin' puppy. Hasn't been out of bed all day. Hasn't said more than a word or two.

Update 08:44:32PM: She spent some time watching tv today. Was good to see her sitting up. She seems to have steadied out. Not getting any worse now. In theory she'll start to get better tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I made some enchiladas for dinner. She wanted to eat them, tried, but couldn't. Poor Terp. Because yo rocko el kitcheno on enchilada night! Ok, I'm off to get some more ice and gatorade. Thanks again to all for the calls and emails.
