Replaced My Mavic Ksyrium Freehub Bushing
At the Covington Century my wheels howled any time I coasted. And recently I've had issues with the cassette wobbling in and out even though the lockring was tight. Both symptoms of worn freehub bushings. You can order a complete freehub for $60 or you can get only the bushing that wears out for $12. I opted for the cheaper do-it-yourself option. Tonight I removed the freehub body from my Mavic rear wheel and replaced the plastic bushing. Here's
RogueMechanic doing it on video. We'll see how it operates in the long run but so far so good. Yet another frontier of the bike explored and worked on. I enjoy working on the bike. I don't enjoy washing it.
