I Won Some Kathleen Taylor Art!

Last week Kate Parker announced a contest on her blog to collect ideas on using social networking to show the world her mom's excellent art. When this sort of thing happens you kind of roll your eyes and click the link because you want to see the train wreck that is your friend's mom's art.

But that didn't happen... the art was great! I was pleasantly surprised to find that Kate's mom is an amazing artist with a very cool style. So I threw some ideas out there and I won! I chose the red dog piece called Play With Me... reminds me of Pupper :)

Kate, Kathleen and I grabbed some coffee today to discuss their social media plan. It's always exciting for me to hear people moving into social media. They're both naturals and will have no problem generating a following. Kathleen's been on The Dave Letterman Show and HGTV. Over the course of 18 years she's built up a following and reputation for her great art. Now they'll bring that to Facebook, Twitter and the blogosphere.

They even framed the print! Many thanks you two! We hung it in the kid's room and Ava heartily agrees that it's a great addition to the room. We look forward to your expansion into social media!

Also of note is the fact that this was the first time Kate and I have met. Having read each other's blog for years and exchanged emails/tweets/facebook comments many times it was like we knew each other. Always cool when that happens. (Just like Brandon and MetaMarshall!) Next up is some sort of trail run with Kindzia, Jill, Kate and me. Just not a 5k... Kate seems to always win those!
