Formula 1 San Marino Gran Prix on TV
The race started at 7:30AM. I woke up at
6:00AM, went to Kroger to get some donuts
and Dole Pine-Orange-Banana and then headed
to Heather's place because I don't have the
Speedvision channel.
The Ferraris took the front row as Schumi
and Rubens qualified within .6 seconds.
The BMW Williams cars of Ralf and Juan
Pablo Montoya took the second row.
Everybody was expecting more contact on the
first lap. Ralf locked up his brakes on
the first turn which backed Montoya off a
bit. The power of the BMW engine was
apparent. Drivers were concerned about the
weather and made last-minute adjustments to
their launch control.
Schumi man-handled the race from the start
and won by lapping Coulthard, a very
embarrasing result for Coulthard.
My current fave driver is Juan Pablo
Montoya. He's an aggressive underdog at
this point. And of course he's powered by
BMW...
I fell asleep somewhere in the middle of
the race. I dreamed that I snuck onto the
circuit and hid next to one of the
retaining walls. Eventually a race
official sauntered across the track and
asked me to leave.
I woke up for the last portion of the
race. Excellent racing.
