Haircut

Every month or so I look in the mirror and
realize that I'm starting to look a little
rough around the edges. I need to get a
haircut. When this urge is upon me I call
to make an appointment immediately and seek
the earliest possible reservation. When
this happened last Thursday I was at a
loss. Erin had no openings that I could
make and she was going on vacation for a
week. Jon was recommended for a kickin' doo
and I chose Saturday at 12:30PM.

It turns out that Jon works right next to
Erin which is convenient. She could give
him tips for my goofy ass head. I didn't
have to get used to some other part of the
room (kidding here).

I wanted to get my summer clipping. With
the humidity beginning to whip into Atlanta
it was time to rid myself of the long
locks. Jon was open to the idea and made
some recommendations before setting to
work. He clipped in a frenzy of scissor
activity and falling hair riding the line
between too short and not short enough
expertly. My hair tends to look like, well,
a porcupine when cut too short. I asked
Jon to keep going shorter but like a bar
tender at 2:30AM, he cut me off after a
while not wanting to porcupine me. Good
call.

The end result is a little edgier and more
flexible. Jon showed me how to slap the
gel on and we combed it forward for my
weekend look. During the week I can part
it and go "biz".

Of course I caution that no haircut
evaluation can take place inside of the
first two days while the hair is still
settling, but my preliminary verdict is
that this was an excellent cut. Thanks Jon!
