A Day on Lake Oconee
In honor of Jo, Jesse and Heather's
birthday we headed to the VanMol's lake
house on Lake Oconee.
We met at Carol and Mark's house under
cloudy weather. Little improved over the
1.5 hour drive to the lake. Jesse rode
with Heather and me. Jo, Crystal, Mark and
Carol drove together.
Kendra and Matt were already there.
We took the boat out for some wake
boarding. This was fun. Kendra made it
look easy. It took me quite a few times to
get going. I had some sweet wipeouts which
made Heather smile as she released months
of built-up frustration. Mark couldn't get
the wake board off of his size 13 feet so
Matt recommended that we drag him behind
the boat for a while. After everybody had
a chance to wake board we took a break for
lunch.
Carol had a beer.
After lunch it was time for the tube. I
was on the second boat load of the day.
Matt gave me the special treatment,
throwing me four feet into the air. I
still have bruises.
We opened presents and had cake while the
thunderstorm rolled in. It never stopped.
It poured for 45 minutes before we simply
decided to leave. Then it was present on
the drive back for at least an hour. Big
storm.
Kailey, Flint and Herschell were our dog
best friends for the day. A neighbor's dog
named Lucy joined the party for the entire
afternoon.
Great day. Thanks for Matt, Kendra and the
VanMols for hosting. Thanks to Carol and
Mark for ring leading.
