Imax and Dinner for Beep's Birthday
Heather, Robin, John, Ball (Heather's Mom)
and Beep (Heather's Dad) went to Imax to
celebrate Beep's birthday today.
The showing was Lewis and Clark. The two
amazing explorers opened the western
portion of the continent in a herculean
effort.
There's no way to imagine what they went
through because they lacked one element so
assumed in modern lives: communication.
Think about it. Every adventure these days
included communication. Space flight.
Lunar landings. Deep sea dives. Antarctic
treks. They all have a radio, GPS and
other communication systems in place.
It's only when things to horribly wrong
that modern man can begin to experience
what Lewis and Clark did. And no modern
man would willingly subject himself to a no-
communication adventure.
We are truly entrenched in the information
age. Communication is the facilitator of
our age. Lewis and Clark did not have this
luxury.
After Imax we went to the Athens Pizza
House for dinner. I ate too much.
