I'm getting ready for the Leonid Meteor shower. Unlike last year where Heather and I drove into the country for an hour, I'm going to observe from my roof. I have a flat roof and I'm going to take advantage of it.
I've already moved a tri-pod up there. Earlier today I bought film. Earlier in the week I borrowed my father's SLR camera.
I've organized my folding chair, my sleeping bag and other assorted stuff.
I may make it up for the 11:00PM show, but I will definitely make it up for the 5:30AM peak.
I'll probably set the alarm for about 3:30AM so that I have some time to move stuff to the roof and let my eyes adjust.
My goal is simple: I want to capture a beautufil image of a Leonid. I'll have two cameras. One digital and one film.
This is the predicted rate of visible
meteors for Atlanta. I'm hoping to be on
the roof by about 4:15AM when the curve
starts to pick up some steam. Keyword Tags: misc
