30 Min Hill Run on Treadmill

Keith shared one of his techniques with me last week. He's running more hills. On the treadmills he's adding some incline. So tonight I borrowed the technique and ran with a 5% incline at 7mph for 30 min.

With this whole sickness thing I wasn't sure whether I should be running... until about 10 minutes into the run. It felt great. This was the first thing I've done on my legs since Monday. Three rest days for the legs. I felt great. Got the heart rate up to 174. Worked some new hill running muscles. Seems to have shaken some of the crap out of my head, although I can still feel something amiss above the neck.

I just wanted to get the blood pumping a bit. I started at 7mph on flat. I kept hearing Billy Vandervalk - "Leave it... Leeeeeave it... Leave it." But with my pulse only at 125bpm I wanted more. So I did leave the pace but remembered what Keith told me and added some incline.

Running the hill is tough. Within a few minutes I was up to 150bpm. By the end I was at 174bpm. Good workout.
