Silver Comet Ride
Short, fast ride. Went for 45 minutes. Kept the intensity high. Legs felt great. Didn't feel any pain in the right knee.
My first ride on the new wheels. I arrive at the Silver Comet, find a parking spot and start to set up the bike. I hear a "beep beep" just like the "beep beep" when I lock the mini van. I look up, slightly confused, wondering if I've accidentally locked the doors. I haven't. A girl has just gotten out of hers... the exact same as mine... silver. She's all spandexy and buff, ready for a run. She walks past me and says "nice Zipps." How funny is that Xxxt?!?
The ride is essentially the same as any other wheel. A little wobblier. It's tough for them to fabricate to perfectly true. There were a few moments of crosswind, the real thing I wanted to test. I didn't get thrashed at all by it. Generally not a big deal riding on the disc and 3 spoker. That's good news. I try to follow the rule that you don't race with something you haven't trained with. So I wanted at least one ride on the new wheels.
The weather is beautiful out. Absolutely beautiful. Get out for a walk, run, rollerblade, streak or bike. The leaves are starting to fall. Wonderful.
