Tucker Group Ride in the Rain
Got up at 6:30AM, packed up the bike and headed to Dana and Chris' house. On the way I saw Anna and tried to keep up with her, but I couldn't. Something about her being in a car and me on a bike. Joel wasn't far behind.
We headed out into the rainy, soggy weather. Being the mapmaster I proceeded to get us lost on, oh, the first mile. Damn that Rosser Road! After a couple back and forths we just headed straight for the park. Good job Rosser Road!!
While I love riding the traffic alone, it's not very cool with a group. Just too much chance for drivers to nail one of us. And with the weather I felt that we needed to get off the beaten path as soon as possible. Hugh Howell was hectic.
We turned two laps around Stone Mountain Park. Anna's brakes weren't working too well, but she handled the hills wonderfully. After the second lap we headed back into Tucker where we stopped off at Tucker Bicycles to say Hi.
Back at Dana and Chris' safely, we indulged in some great coffee and conversation. C.J. showed me his World of Warcraft character... I may be buying the game this evening. Very cool. Also learned that Chris has all of the real estate financial expertise that I'm lacking right now. I'm interested in taking he and Dana out to dinner to pick his brain about the outlet mall project. Whatever their fave spot is... Bones, Chops, Canoe, etc.
I made it back to Ava wet and dirty, but she was glad to see me. She let loose a nice poopfart in my honor. Heather wouldn't let me hold her until after the shower.
Great ride. Sorry about the Rosser Road... I'll ride the real Tucker course this week and then we can hit it again soon. I truly believe that once we make it to stupid Rosser Road we'll be off on side streets and able to relax a bit. And next time we try to ride it hopefully it'll be dry.
Thanks to all for motivating me to go! See you soon!
(I don't have an exact ride time, so I'm estimating from the total time... I didn't stop my watch during breaks.)
I'm looking forward to Joel thrashing me on his
blog.
Update: I
found Rosser Road.
Update: Joel's
take on it, which includes strippers from the Pink Pony.
