1Hr Swim, 2 Hr Bike, 1 Hr Run
Swim was ok. Shared a lane with another unnamed female triathlete. Keith & Keith in the lane next to me. I did 30 min warmup and then 12 x 100y intervals. Then some ab work. Then I met Bob at the park. Andreas was there and we caught up with a pack of others, hitting two hard laps. Then the rain. Very strong wind. Very strong rain. Each drop hurt as it hit. Haven't been hurt by rain like that since I jumped through it many moons ago. It cleared and we met Dana for a pre-race recovery prep ride. Three or four laps and then done. Dana and I headed out on the run. I could see rain in the distance. Then a bolt of lightning came down in front of us. Big and fat. We kept going. But two more told us to turn back. As we turned the rain hit hard. Massive wind and rain again. Branches and leaves blowing all over the road. One too-close bolt to our left. Back in the car I waited it out and then had a wonderful lap around the mountain. The light changed as I turned corners and the sun set. It was like a cartoon at times... the light shifts so dramatic. Park was basically empty as I finished. Good workout. I love runs... each one is different and unlike the bike I feel the environment on the run. When I travel I don't feel like I know a place until I run around it. Tonight was a good workout.
