The Wednesday Long Run with pre-swim. Swim felt good. Enjoyed the sunrise. Run was great. Went for the extra 3 miles to make it a full marathon instead of the 23.3 i've done the last couple weeks. Met another triathlete and adventure racer who finished IM Fla last year in about the same time I did. She was doing a 3.5 hr brick with run option but isn't doing IM Fla this year. Her comment that she finished in 11:50, plus a little online stalker activity, reveals that this was most likely Lynne Crump. That is, unless she was a he and named George, Ken, Scott, Christopher or Paul. But she looked the opposite of a he, so I'm sticking with my guess. Luckily, I messed up and told her I finished in 11:43 (actual was 11:44 but that one minute made me sound so much more impressive... lol) so should she decide to stalkerize me (a happening only common for 55+ bi-curious Vietnamese men at my gym) she won't likely find me. Ah, the power of counter-intelligence... I feel safer already!
On the ride across the top-end I-285 I headed to all3sports for some bike maintenance. They're booked so I'll bring it back Monday. Saw Jeff Boyd... he's glueing a tire up and preparing for Tugaloo (last chance to duel with Dan Moss) and the Los Angeles Triathlon. I'm sure he'll represent Georgia well in L.A.! Then I met Jonathan who recognized my name because he found joereger.com while preparing for Callaway a while back. Hi Jonathan! Very nice to meet him. He's getting ready to sign up for Ironman Wisconsin and said that he appreciated the training notes I put up on the site. Very appreciated! Stop by and let me know how the training goes! I'm sure we'll have another good group of ironman preparees next year too! I was vetoed on my $450 request-to-wife for Ironman Arizona so I doubt IM WI is in order for me next year but it's close enough to Fla that training groups work out well.
