Wheels of Fire Ride
12:39:30 PM: Riding 50 miles in the snow, cold and wind: Worst. Idea. Ever.
Wheels of Fire? More like Wheels of Freezing Feet, Cold Wind and Annoying Hills. Marc and Matthew met me down near Columbus. It was snowing hard as they arrived and proclaimed "this is a bad idea." Indeed. Sudie was there. Bob and Sue may have been there.
We started out, in the snow, thinking that we'd do 26. Then Marc pushed us for 45. And when Marc and I thought we lost Matthew off the back (he was in front of us) we added a few extra miles backtracking.
Pretty miserable ride but a good epic ride story. It was snowing in Georgia. And we were on our bikes. And then these steady 20mph freezing winds hit us.
