45 Min Swim, 13 Mi Run: Quality



I continue to work on getting in quality mileage. To that end I broke the swim into 300y segments. I had a surprise afternoon conference call and had to do the swim before it and the run after it.

Ran on the Comet. Focused on things like cadence and general quality. Whenever I found myself lollygagging I'd increase cadence. Threw in a 6:35 mi and did some 5:35 stuff in an attempt to be Lucho-esque. Starting to see some of the higher heart rates while feeling comfortable. A good way to go however.

Final was 13.1 miles in 1:40 (7:41min/mi avg pace) at an average 152bpm. The weather's spectacular for running right now. Get out there and turn some miles!

Am I going too hard? Possibly. Maybe even probably. But it's feeling good and I don't sense any of the overtraining symptoms right now. I am sore as workouts start but I loosen up pretty quickly. I certainly can't keep hammering my legs like I have in the last three days.
