New Beginnings: 20 Min Swim and Core Weights

AMNew Beginnings, sounds like a rehab facility. Possibly fitting. First swim of 09, in the books. After six seasons I can now say that I own my swim stroke. In the early years when I'd take a break of a couple weeks I'd come back and feel loosy goosy in the pool... as if I had forgotten how to swim. But now after a two month plus layoff I got back into the pool and quickly felt my stroke. I didn't have the strength or endurance to back it up, but I had the stroke itself. So for better or for worse, it's mine.

Then off to the weights. My fave exercise in the world, the torso twister. Love that thing. Gets those hard-to-work side abs. Also did back extensions, bench presses, curls and a bunch of core/ab stuff. I'm definitely missing the muscular endurance I had... this workout hurt quite a bit despite being very tame. I suspect I'll be sore tomorrow.

All of which is fine. Just getting back into it. No urgency. Yet.
