Drizzly 23 Mile Morning Run
Wednesday morning run, it keeps going through at least moderate weather. Drizzle today, decent temps. Up at 4a, running by 4:45a. Very few people out today. Only three in the first 15 miles.
Fitness update: core weak, aerobic base ok, leg durability not there. Stiffness and pain near the end of these longer runs. Not surprising given how few miles I've been running lately.
First workout in about a week due to the stomach bug. Lost a bunch of weight during that, ended today's run at 159.l lbs. Need to pack on a few pounds. Haven't been eating the whey protein and am losing muscle, much in the upper body after five months with no swimming.
Finished in 3:31 today. Like last week, a surprise. Had expected 4:00 last week. Worked to moderate pace today and didn't feel like i was going too hard. Heart rate tells another story though, avg in low 150's. During season i'd see low 130's average or even mid-120's for a slightly slower run in more heat. Apples n' oranges n' beef jerky.
First caffeine since last week's painful caffeine withdrawl. We'll see how this thing goes.
