30 Min Swim, Weights, 30 Min Run: First in 6 Mos
First time in the pool in about six months. Wow. Lots of room to rebuild. Stroke felt fine/normal/fun. Muscles did not. After just ten minutes I was getting that lactic acid burn. Holy tamole, you've got to be kidding me. No upper body strength whatsoever.
Then my first weights session in months. Core isn't as bad as I had feared... I usually do a bunch of situps/crunches throughout the week at home. Bench pressing and curls are sad.
Run at 8mph for 30 minutes. Heart at 163bpm at the end. In good form it'll be south of 150bpm at the end of an hour. So I'm probably 21-23bpm off of that right now. Good news is that the running felt good. Compared to just four days ago I feel great. My lungs have opened up and I can breathe again. Now I need to get the legs in shape.
Good to be back at it.
