Atlanta, Georgia List of Online Triathlon Resources
Christopher, moving to Georgia from Virginia, shot me an email asking about local resources for triathletes. I thought it made sense to post the stuff I came up with here as well in case it can help others via the glorious power of Google!
http://www.all3sports.comThe best tri shop in the universe! All the gear, guidance and expertise you can possibly need.
http://www.sadlebred.com/gamaps.htmlThe most complete list of cycling maps in Georgia.
http://www.sadlebred.com/atlroadrides.htmlThe most complete list of road rides in Atlanta.
http://www.tribluesky.com/The Tri The Parks triathlon series has some of the best triathlon events. If you're looking for an event these are highly recommended. They're well-organized and always bring out a large group of great people.
http://www.tri-atlanta.org/The local triathlon club. They're always putting on events and are very inclusive. A great way to meet some people and then branch out into workouts, etc.
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/tri-atlanta/Yahoo! Group for Tri-Atlanta. Fairly active and a good place to post to see who's looking for workout partners, what people think about certain rides/races, etc.
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/northatlantatriathlon/Another Yahoo! Group for triathletes in the north georgia area.
http://www.trailexpress.com/silvercomet/maps.phpThe Silver Comet Trail is a great place to get bike and run miles in. Long and relatively flat you can train for anything from sprint to Ironman here. Just watch out for the kids on roller blades!
http://www.dynamoswimclub.com/A lot of triathletes swim masters at Dynamo. They've got two locations and at least one saline pool which is kinder on the wetsuits.
I'm sure I'm missing tons of good stuff too. Shoot me an email or post a comment and I'll add it to the list!
