Quick Note on Lydiard Method and Rest of Season Micro Plan
Did a little reading on the Lydiard method. I've been working off of a general Maffeton plan... lots of base. Lydiard has a lot of base too and then leads in to some strength training then some speed training and then racing.
Just thinking ahead a bit. Early August is recovery from VT100 and then establishment of the base week (attempt numero dos). Mid august to mid september is strength work. Hill runs. Plyos. Big chain ring riding. Mid september to mid october is speedwork. Track workouts. High heart rate. Taper late Oct and then race Nov 3rd.
That's a rough working plan. In addition I'd like to do a swim streak again that builds to an hour daily in the pool in mid oct. I'd like consistency during the week and big days on the weekend. Plyos once a week. 16 min abs daily.
I did this last year. Big list of things that I wanted to get done. Life negotiated with me. We'll see how the cards fall this year.
